Echelon alumnus Flipter will become 1World Online Latin America with CEO joining the latter as General Manager
Mexico-based fun social polling tool Flipter has been acquired by Silicon Valley-based competitor 1World Online, Inc. The amount has not been disclosed.
e27 last met Flipter in 2011 when the startup pitched at our Echelon 2011 Hong Kong satellite and exhibited at Echelon 2011 in Singapore.
According to an official statement, the Flipter team will be joining 1World as the latter’s Latin America arm.
For background, 1World combines online polling and data to help companies engage their audience, grow traffic on their websites, better understand customer sentiment and collect data.

1World recently hit 750,000 members, according to an official statement. Additionally, it sees more than 10 million monthly users regularly, said the company.
The Flipter website is no longer in use. Members on Flipter will soon receive specific information on how they can upgrade their accounts to the 1World platform.
The same document noted that 1World has plans to open operations in Asia. It is currently available in Europe, India (which it does not consider as part of Asia, apparently), and Latin America.
Going forward, Salvador de la Barrera, Founder and CEO, Flipter, will join 1World as General Manager for Latin America.
