Delhi-based content distribution app Inshorts has acquired BetaGlide Inc, operator of Retention.ai, which helps app developers track uninstalled users, draw insights on user experience and improve user retention.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Retention.ai is a data analytics startup that helps app developers study user behaviour, especially by tracking uninstalled users.

It helps identify the possible reasons for the uninstalling, which can, in turn, help app developers decrease their acquisition cost.

“With the acquisition, Inshorts aims to move a step ahead in retention. As the company plans to roll out some exciting features like the recommendation engine, the in-house data analytics team will ensure a smooth, hassle-free and enjoyable experience for the users, and also help in the execution of the same so that the app delivers on the promise it makes to users,” a spokesperson for Inshorts said in a statement.

Retention.ai had previously worked with Inshorts to provide the company’s developers with app usability data to help detect performance and functional issues and bugs, even for low-end smartphones.
