The online doctor booking startup claims the acquisition, its fourth in five months, makes it the largest healthcare appointment booking platform globally
Marking its fourth acquisition in five months, online doctor booking platform Practo has acquired appointment booking company, Qikwell for an undisclosed amount.
The company claims that the acquisition makes Practo the world’s largest appointment booking platform with nearly 40 million appointments managed every year.
The acquisition will help Practo strengthen its position in the online healthcare business. It will gain access to Qikwell’s proprietary technologies and algorithms to help synchronise patients, doctors and front office staff at the hospital to reduce the average wait time.
Earlier this month, the Bangalore-based healthcare platform acquired Insta Health Solutions, a cloud-based hospital information management solution (HIMS) firm, for US$12 million.
Practo had also acquired products outsourcing firm Genii in July and Delhi-based fitness management platform FitHo in April. Last month the company closed US$90 million in Series C funding round led by Tencent.
